P2B of Bohol budget to come from IRA: Relampagos

BOHOL Vice Governor Rene Relampagos said that of the P4.5 billion 2021 annual budget of the provincial government, P2 billion of it will come from the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).

Relampagos told Cebu Business Week that aside from IRA, the other funds will come from the locally generated income like real property tax, hospital fees and other services where the provincial government can earn.

He said that Bohol Provincial Government will also secure borrowings from Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) to finance some projects.

Relampagos added that the administration of Governor Arthur “Art” Yap, with the support of the Bohol Provincial Board headed by him, has flagship projects like massive water systems in all 1,009 barangays of the entire province, increased food production, sustainable live lihood, and updated delivery of health services.

He said that increasing food production this year and the years after is one way to survive this Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Relampagos said that he and Yap are closely coordinating with each other to increase food production to attain food security and self reliance.

He said that he and Yap are also maximizing the delivery of basic services by improving the services of the hospitals owned and supervised by the Bohol Provincial Government.

“We must upgrade the delivery of health services to the people especially during the time of Covid-19 pandemic. So, massive water system, increased food production, increased livelihood, and improved health services are the flagship programs of the administration of Governor Yap and me,” Relampagos said.

Bohol has 10 district hospitals. The other two government hospitals are owned by the Department of Health (DOH). ELIAS O. BAQUERO
