Yap to revive tourism in Bohol

THE chief of the Tourism Promotion Board (TPB) is confident that the once vibrant tourism industry in Bohol which was affected by Covid-19 will be revived with the strong leadership of Governor Arthur Yap.

TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Antonette Velasco-Allones of Bohol described Yap as her teacher in promoting tourism.

Allones made the statement during the Balik Bohol Online Sale (BBOS) last month with Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat as keynote speaker

The two tourism officials praised the Bohol Local Government Unit (LGU) and the private tourism industry stakeholders for organizing BBOS to announce to the public of the big discounts from February 21 to March 14, 2021

Panglao Mayor Nila Montero and Bohol Provincial Tourism Council Chairman Atty. Lucas Nunag Jr. joined the event.

Montero said that this is now the time that the LGUs, tourism stakeholders and DOT shall work together to revive the once sturdy industry.

Allones said that Yap is ready to face the risk and is innovative in promoting tourism and balance it with the continuing fight against Covid-19.

Allones said that even with the Covid-19 pandemic, she was still able to connect with the Bohol officials and the people of Bohol.

She also acknowledged the people behind the Balik Bohol Online Sale like Margie Munsayac, vice president for sales and marketing of Bluewater Resort and Bambi Samson of Amorita Beach Resort.

Allones is confident that with Yap’s strong leadership in Bohol, the tourism industry will revive, further describing the governor as someone “whose heart is in the right place.” PR/PRIMER
