Labella, Rama lead simulation of vaccination

MAYOR Edgardo C. Labella and Vice Mayor Michael Rama have led the simulation exercise at the gym of Lourdes Shrine, Punta Princesa, Cebu City for the Covid-19 vaccination of the Cebu City Government in preparation for the arrival of the vaccines.

The rollout of Covid-19 vaccination in Cebu City has started early this month but the frontliners in hospitals were prioritized.

Rama said that they are one with all stakeholders in Cebu City in making this rollout plan possible.

Labella, for his part, said that the simulation is a rehearsal or practice so it would be easy for the people and the frontlines during the actual vaccination.

In a monthly meeting of the Lourdes Shrine Parish Pastoral Council presided by PPC President Elias O. Baquero, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Randolph “Randy” Figuracion said that the gym as vaccination site is one of the church’s help to the government to vaccinate as many people as it can.

The Cebu City Council has allocated P400 million to purchase anti-Covid-19 vaccines which is included in the 2021 annual budget. The city legislative body again allocated P100 million to purchase vaccines under a supplemental budget.

Labella said they will use the money to purchase vaccines by batches depending on the availability of vaccines to be provided by the national government. ELIAS O. BAQUERO
