New Tagbilaran City port terminal inaugurated

THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) inaugurated the passenger terminal at the Port of Tagbilaran on Wednesday, April 14.

DOTr said the building, which is within the Passenger Terminal Complex of the port, is a massive two-storey building with a total floor area of 1,843.37 square meters.

The new terminal has a capacity of 1,110 passengers, which is three times its previous capacity of 497 passengers.

Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade led the inauguration, along with Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago and PPA Port Manager James Gantalao.

It was also attended by Representatives Edgar Chatto, Aris Aumentado and Alexie Tutor, and Tagbilaran Mayor Baba Yap.

Tugade said the passenger terminal building was another significant milestone for the country’s maritime sector fulfilled during Duterte’s administration.

The port development project also encompasses the construction of a pumphouse and appurtenances, and the installation of concrete pavement, as well as the R.C. duct bank and lamp post foundation.
