AFTER at least 20 residents were found positive
for coronavirus disease 2019
(Covid-19), the Cebu City
Government on Wednesday placed a subdivision on
Councilor Joel Garganera, Emergency Operations
Center (EOC) chief implementer, said the granular
lockdown affects only the
place where the infected
individuals are residing in
He clarified the
lockdown does not cover the entire barangay of Guadalupe.
The decision would
avert residents from coming out and visitors from coming in to prevent the
spread of the Covid-19 virus, Garganera said.
Relative to this, the
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) on Monday, recommended placing the village under
lockdown due to the rising number of infected individuals.
The Department of
Health (DOH)-Region 7 (Central Visayas) bulletin on Tuesday showed Cebu City
has 181 new cases and 81 recoveries. There is a total of 1,581 active cases
monitored in different hospitals and quarantine facilities.
The EOC reported at
least 68 barangays out of 80 are being monitored for Covid-19 transmissions.

Meanwhile, to ensure
the city residents' compliance with health protocols, CCPO personnel are now
conducting “Oplan Bulabog” in specific areas in the city.
