TIGHTENING OF AIRFARE RULES

THE Department of Tourism is finalizing measures to promote airfare transparency and strengthen consumer protection.

Lawmakers are also pushing for the upgrade of key regional airports.

Sen. Loren Legarda stressed high domestic airfare remains a major deterrent to local travel.

She also disclosed that the Department of Transportation, Civil Aeronautics Board , Department of Trade and Industry and Philippine Competition Commission are finalizing a code of conduct for online travel agencies to ensure fair pricing and transparency in air fares.
