DOH: DON'T SELF-MEDICATE

THE Department of Health in Cebu is warning the public not to self-medicate and to seek medical consultation before taking any antibiotics.

The agency stressed antibiotics should only be taken when prescribed.

It warned that misuse can cause adverse effects and lead to antibiotic resistance.

The health department issued this appeal after typhoon Tino's aftermath left widespread flooding across several areas in Cebu,veith waters rising over structures and powerful currents sweeping away homes.

The danger from floodwaters poses serious health risks to the public.
