EVEN non-lawyers know that no one -- even how high and mighty -- is above the law. We also are aware that the law cannot be bent just to please others.
But for Sen. Erwin Tulfo, it's okay to do away with the law just to please the public. How disgusting!
The neophyte senator, a non-lawyer, should have consulted his legal advisers first before uttering such a statement that had exposed his embarrassing ignorance of the law.
It is best to remind Tulfo that nobody can bend the law to be able to please the people. The law should always be upheld by all.
Does the senator mean to say that when a robber gets arrested, the arresting officer can bend the law simply because the robber is his relative or friend?
Sadly, Tulfo has not rectified his big blunder. He should not have won a Senate seat in the first place.
