MAYOR'S ERRONEOUS WAY

THERE was a video of a town mayor physically hurting an ordinary constituent that went viral after the politician himself uploaded it for the entire world to see.

The video showed Dumanjug Mayor Guntrano Gica striking the father of a cyber pornography victim.

The town leader also challenged those who disagree with his style to file cases against him.

While Gica's move of disciplining his constituents is laudable, but the same is erroneous - highly unjust or unjustified when the move goes physical.

An admonition or a warning would have sufficed but hurting someone for his unlawful actuation would be too harsh.

Gica's intention is commendable but his way of doing it is highly assailable.

As the town leader, he should display the kind or style of disciplining his constituents that is lawful so that they will obey him out of respect, not out of fear.
