SALARY HIKE FOR HOUSEHELPERS

DOMESTIC workers or househelpers in Cebu and Bohol are set to receive higher monthly wages.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board 7 has issued a wage order that grants a P1,000 monthly hike for kasambahays in chartered cities and first-class municipalities.

This raises their minimum monthly salary from P6,000 to P7,000.

The new order covers yayas, cooks, gardeners and laundry persons whether on a live-in or live-out arrangement.

Family drivers and service providers are excluded from this wage order.
